Alex Bogdanets will always be remembered

R.I.P. Alex Bogdanets
May 4th, 2018

Alex Bogdanets died on May 4th Friday Night at Bald Eagle State Park. He was leaving the parking lot next to the boat docks and he lost control and his car flipped and went into the lake upside down. He had two friends that managed to get out but Alex was not able to take off his seatbelt while upside down drowned in his car. At 9:20 the car hit the water and at 9:23 the car was completely submerged under water. It took emergency responders an hour and a half to find his car and it was too late.

Alex was my closest friend. We thought of each other not as friends but as brothers. Me and him hammocked a lot, drove anywhere on his crv, barked in the cafeteria and watched the other people looking for a dog. But now he is gone and I just can’t accept it. I still think I will come to lunch and he will show up but this time he won't….we had such a strong connection.

Alex had an extremely big impact on everyone. He was always so funny and could make anyone crack a smile. He had a such a unique personality that always stayed happy and could blend into any group. He recently became a lot closer to God and just always wanted to learn more and was blessed. Alex most likely made it to Heaven and I hope I will get to see him up there.

The example we can take for ourselves is to look out for who your friends are. They can really influence your whole life and you will see who your real friends are. If you start taking the wrong paths it is very easy to get carried away and it is very hard to stand back up. We also learned that we cannot be attached to anything we own such as a car, house, phone and if it is our time we won’t be taking any of that with us to Heaven. We also need to ready to die. Just because you go to church and don’t do bad things doesn't mean you are ready. You need to accept Jesus and you need to give your soul to him and live the right life.

I cried for 3 days and had 3 hours of sleep. Now I am happy that he is in a better place and that he is our Guardian Angel. Funeral will be on Wednesday the 9th at 2 pm at the First Russian Baptist Church in State College.
