Detailing
I am writing this post about detailing because I love working on cars and what's better than having your car you worked so hard for to be clean. First off detailing is a never-ending process you can go beyond what the car came out from the factory. Some detailing steps can include from detailed washing to buffing, waxing, sealant, clear wrapping, vinyl wrapping and much more. Now I will explain my detailing process of how I clean my cars.
Step 1:
Washing
Supplies:
- Two buckets
- Microfiber towels
- Microfiber sponge
- Drying Cloth
- Car soap
- Smaller brush for wheels
First, start by hosing the car down to take off any loose dirt.
Then fill up two buckets with water and add soap to one.
Then use the microfiber sponge and dip it into the soapy and starting wiping the car down from top to bottom. One bucket with soap is to clean the car the second bucket is to rinse the sponge from the dirt before you dip it back into the soap. Do not touch greasy items like your wheels with the sponge.
After you are done rinse the car off and begin cleaning the wheels with the leftover soapy water and a brush then rinse.
Step 2:
Clay Bar
For this step, you will need a clay bar and clay bar lubricant. What a clay bar does is cleans off any contaminants off of your clear coat like tar and any bugs left.
First, start by spraying a section with the lubricant and starting rubbing the clay bar on that area, you will see some contaminants stick to the clay bar. Work your way around the whole car by sections.
Clean and dry the car off so the car is clean. Now your car is ready for the buffing process.
Step 3:
Buffing
